All Saints is first and foremost a Christian church, deeply committed to Jesus Christ as "the way,
the truth, and the life." (John 14:6) As an Episcopal church (episcopal means governed by bishops),
we are one part of a far larger catholic (universal) church that reaches across this state, nation,
and world.
We are a sacramental church, meaning that we are bound by the sacraments (rites)
ordained by Jesus ~ babtism and the Eucharist (Holy Communion)~ as well as the sacraments of
confirmation, reconciliation of a penitent (confession), marriage, ordination, and unction (healing).
Our Sunday worship services include "The Liturgy of the Word" (readings from the Bible and a sermon)
and "The Liturgy of the Table" (Eucharist).
We invite you to come and share with us the good news of God in Jesus Christ through the hearing of Holy
Scripture, through prayer, and as we gather around the Lord's table.
In 1961, All Saints Episcopal Church was established b the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi. We are located
in south Jackson on five wooded acres.
Our sanctuary was built in 1963. In 1987 our parish hall/education building was added to meet the growing
needs of our parish.
There have been six rectors in All Saints history (one becoming Bishop of Arkansas). Each rector, exercising
his unique gifts, has led us on a coninuing journey to find who we are and what God has called us to be.
All Saints has a feeling all its own and most people experience this when they walk through the door.
We are a warm and friendly "come as you are" kind of place. A banner hangs at the back of the church
which says "Expect a Miracle", and we always do.
